The YEBISU KAN, along with Guanyu Theatre, World Theatre, and Daming Theatre, are collectively known as the four major theaters in Tainan. The term "Rong" in Rong Theatre is derived from the Japanese Seven Lucky Gods belief, specifically from "Ebisu" (also written as "Yi", "Rong", "Hiruko", among others). During the Japanese colonial period, Tainan's "Hiruko-za" (formerly known as Daheiza) was also named after the same deity.
